This is a step by step description of my "online experience" trying to purchase a blackberry z10 at the promotional price on that day.</li> </ol> <h2>[WHY]</h2> <ol> <li><strong>so I go to "blackberry.com"</strong></li> <ol> <li>this gets redirected to ca.blackberry.com, which is fine(i am in ca), lets just find the blackberry "buy now" button</li> </ol> <li><strong>found the "z10", and have 2 options, i choose buy online and now i get a list of online vendors, ( would have preferred to purchase directly from blackberry.com BUT ...)</strong></li> <ol> <li>] I choose the first online vendor in the list ...</li> </ol> <li><strong>I try "amazon.ca"</strong></li> <ol> <li>] am immediately taken to the product page but the price of $389.00 is nowhere near the price in <span style="text-decoration: underline;">the deal</span>, whats going on here?</li> </ol> <li><strong>I try "best buy"</strong></li> <ol> <li>] here I have to choose the carrier(I choose telus, even though I want to purchase this phone unlocked) </li> <ol> <li>] then i get page with no results</li> </ol> <li>] i then choose another carrier(choose rogers)</li> <ol> <li>] then i get another page with no results</li> </ol></ol> <li><strong>I then try another vendor "future shop"</strong></li> <ol> <li>] the page i am directed to ... doesnt load at all </li> </ol> <li><strong>I try again, future shop </strong></li> <ol> <li>] this time the page eventually loads, (it looks like its showing the "blackberry.com" product page in a frame)</li> <li>] i choose carrier (telus), no results</li> <li>] i try the other 2 carries, again no results</li> <li>] i navigate to the blackberry products using the sites menu system and locate the z10 selection, they have numerous carrier products but no unlocked buy outright options. </li> <li>] hmmmmm</li> </ol> <li><strong>] so i go to "us.blackberry.com"</strong></li> <ol> <li>] aha, getting warm, devices/z10/buytoday - an the first option on the online vendors page that comes up is shopblackberry.com , clicking ....</li> <li>] there it is for $399, PROBLEM 1] is, thats NOT the price in the deal AND</li> <li>] PROBLEM 2 ] ships only to us addresses</li> </ol> <li><strong>] OK, its back to square 1, where did i hear about this deal again ... </strong></li> <ol> <li>] another 15 minutes + wasted of digging thru my social media stream to find the post where i saw this deal mentioned ...</li> </ol> <li>] <strong>lets double check the fine print in the deal </strong></li> <ol> <li>] aha - there it is -<span style="background-color: #ffff00;"> until Dec 2.</span> i am assuming it was on sale until yesterday ??</li> <li><span style="background-color: #ffff00;">*] my mistake - </span>i didnt catch the "until" part, guessing that because i am used to seeing "expires Dec 2" and offers being valid on that date, i just assumed, but that being said, it is CYBER MONDAY and if your going to have a sale on this weekend, you would think that ..... </li> <li><span style="background-color: #ffff00;">*] my mistake 2</span> - if you read about the deal carefully it mentions that the <strong><em>special offer price</em></strong> doesnt show up until you actually "checkout" of the store, so it may have still been valid on the 2nd.</li> </ol> <li><strong>] &*%%$$# - so it looks like i missed the blackberry z10 deal bus</strong></li> <ol> <li>] well then again, NOT really, with that whole 'ship to us addresses only' thing,</li> </ol> <li><strong>] i would have had to jump 'through some more hoops' </strong></li> <ol> <li>] to actually land one of these here in Canada, for that price, which is only more aggravating because Blackberry is a Canadian company based in Canada!!!</li> </ol> <li><strong>] oh well</strong></li> <ol> <li>] the nexus 5 is $349 </li> </ol></ol> <h2>[WHERE]</h2> <ol> <li><strong>] UPDATE try another vendor "Bell Canada"</strong></li> <ol> <li>] page loads quickly, looks the best of all the sites ive visited AND has the option to purchased off contract, the PROBLEM is THEIR PRICE @ $ 649.00</li> </ol></ol> <h2>[WHEN]</h2> <ol> <li><strong>] UPDATE [2014-mm-dd] blackberry.ca</strong></li> <ol> <li>] has now added the ability for Canadians to order directly from their website.
