The world wants cheap energy, in whatever forms it comes, to power and fuel useful human work. The idea that we want high energy prices because some segment of Canadian workers are involved in its extraction is just ridiculous.</div> <div>An advanced economy like ours relying on base resource extraction is a bad thing - bordering on pathetic. Now that our dollar has dropped and the federal government is no longer obsessed with oil, maybe we'll see a transition to something that makes sense, even if the disruption causes some temporary hardship.</div> </div> </div> <div><hr /></div> <div> <h1 style="text-align: center;"> </h1> </div>
