The Veggetti is a hand-cranked gizmo that promises to turn veggies into delicious spaghetti in seconds. It claims the guilt-free zucchini pasta it makes has just 60 calories, much less than the 800 calories it says is found in ordinary pasta.

Consumer reporter Lynda Steele tested the device by shredding a zucchini in it. Within seconds, she did have a plate full of fettuccini-like vegetable strips and she says it was easy to use.

Then Steele nuked the zuke, poured a little premium pasta sauce on it, closed her eyes and gave it a try.

“It actually tastes pretty good,” she said.

The device claims to work with other vegetables too, including carrots, cucumbers, squash and potatoes.

At $19.99 before shipping, Steele on Your Side gives the Veggetti five out of five stars.
