The further behind we lag, the harder it is going to be to catch up ...

now you may be thinking that your pretty much up to speed on all this digital techknowledge-eee stuff, your reading this here article on your fancy apple iphone, after somebody shared it with you on your facebook, you like the article so much your going save it to your dropbox account and then if you can clear up some time on you google calendar, you may even email around to your family and friends with your microsoft outlook account. So yeah your up to speed, right?

Well, sure you are - but - the problem is that the "Canadian Content" on all that tech that you just used is literally 0.0% Now sure we can start splitting hairs and digging deep to find value that the Canadian branch office of Microsoft is contributing, or we can try and calculate the % of the salaries that the 350K canadians who are working in the US tech sectors are sending back home, but even with all that tallied up, your looking at pretty much squat.

What makes it worse (for us as Canadians) is that many major tech marketplaces are winner take all, the first player to score big tends to capture the majority of the market share.

we have a tech startup sectors in several canadian cities, we have our own established tech companies and we have some successfull startup companies. We also have global tech companies who have established offices here.

- BUT we NEED to invest

we don't need the government to pick the winners and hand over our hard earned tax $$$ to who they think

- we need to pick the winners

we do need the government

we need companies to ...

- pick up the ball and recognize the talented and reward it (aka pay them competitively). We need our companies to stick a little bit more on the line when it comes to "developing talent",

- governments - taxis - uber

ideas, ideas, ideas

x] open gov, x] e-vote, x] jobs - skills - training, x] edu tech 101, x] health tech 101

] tax credits for normal canadians who are investing in startup company

] expanded startup financing by

- match VC/Angel investment

] a nationwide, realtime, real, "dragons den", open to all ( entrepeneurs, investors )

] SR ED - revised

] tech stars

techonomy

- the digitization, automation and uberization of our economy is an ongoing process that began nearly 75 years ago with the advent of the mainframe computer in

- Today(2016) every company is, or is moving towards becoming a technology company.
