<li>There are <strong>a lot of variables that come into play when choosing a smartphone</strong> (os, device, brand, apps, service provider, service package) and I can imagine that walking into any 1 of a myriad of smartphone vendors with the countless&nbsp;choices,&nbsp;mix in some sales person&nbsp;bias, personal opinions, current promotions, etc&nbsp;and it could&nbsp;make choosing that&nbsp;new smartphone&nbsp;somewhat overwhelming/confusing or even frustrating.</li>
<li><strong>It's doesnt have to be confusing, its really&nbsp;quite simple!</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;Start by choosing your operating system(os). Currently there are&nbsp;2 primary choices. ios (by apple) and android (open source) are the 2 biggies and together they account for almost 90% of the mobile os market. Choosing between them based on market share (66 to 22)&nbsp;may make it seem pretty straitforward BUT keep in mind that apple&nbsp;has been around&nbsp;a lot longer and that android is coming on strong&nbsp;for a number of very good reasons.&nbsp;Check out&nbsp;my <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">ios-VS-android</span></strong>&nbsp;comparision which attempts to outline some of the basic differences between these&nbsp;2 os.</li>
