This device (<a href="/view/article?id=3782" target="_blank">Blackberry Passport</a>)&nbsp;will ship with the Amazon App store installed, making it just as easy to install and run their 240,000 android apps as it is to install and run the 230,000 apps currently in Blackberry World. 
&nbsp;
Additionally, its&nbsp;NOT all that difficult to <a href="/view/article?id=3872" target="_blank">install and run android apps</a> from Google Play or other Android app stores.
&nbsp;
Yes, I realize that it won't natively support android apps that rely on Google Play services (there are workarounds)&nbsp;but I hope you realize that&nbsp;you can still&nbsp;use gmail, google calendar, google maps and some of the other popular free services that google offers, if you choose to do so.

One could even argue that the gmail and google calendar user experiences are better on Blackberry then they are with the native google apps ???? but I won't go there, you check it out and you decide for yourself :) 
 
Yes,&nbsp;it would be nice to see even more <a href="http://crackberry.com/best-blackberry-10-apps-and-games" target="_blank">high quality native Blackberry apps</a>, this is partially a chicken and egg problem and partially a blackberry(the company) doesnt know how to treat and or attract developers problem.

I also realize that super duper app "whatever" may be missing from the Blackberry/Android platform, in&nbsp;some cases there may be a credible, functionally equivalent&nbsp;third party alternative that offers a solution, but if that "missing&nbsp;app" is&nbsp;on your&nbsp;"must have" list then by all means stay away from the Blackberry platform, I understand, I could even empathize with you, if you were to say, "Blackberry sucks because it doesnt have &lt;insert name of missing major app&gt;".

I'll even add that app to "the list" .... a collection of the top 150+ or so apps along with their availability across platforms.

but at the end of the day, how many apps do you really need?

<a href="/view/article?id=3801" target="_blank">Studies have been done</a> that show the average smartphone user installs about (26) apps on their smartphone, This number has been trending upwards over the years as the smartphone market matures, but my point here is that the sheer quanitity of apps that a platform offers becomes far less important then if said platform has the apps that YOU need, the apps that you use everyday?&nbsp;
