Provincial and Federal&nbsp;government both have a vital role to play in the stabilization of this industry through these poor times. Now I'm not going to play the political game of saying that Premier Notley is incapable because of the party she belongs to, nor will I say it in regards to Prime Minister Trudeau. What I will say is that inaction on the part of both of these individuals and their respective governments speaks volumes. I am disappointed that Syrian refugees continues to be the mainstream media's focus in regards to talking about the federal government. Clearly these refugees need help, I am not questioning that, but there are CANADIAN citizens and Canada's largest industry that require your focus a lot more right now. How does the old saying go "look after your own back yard before worrying about someone else's". Ensuring the approval of the Energy East Pipeline would be a start , helping push through the Northern Gateway Pipeline to open up markets in our own country and across the pacific would do wonders for marketability for this country's chief export. As for provincially , putting the carbon tax on hold for the time being would be a start , holding oil royalties at current levels or reducing them due to low prices is advisable to stimulate continued growth or at least regain some of the current job losses that have already occurred. What happenes when the economic engine that drives this country (the energy sector) grinds to a halt? No more equalization payments to be made? What then? Is that when the rest of this country begins to realize the enormity of this situation? I do not claim to have a 100% guaranteed solution to this situation , but I would certainly feel better knowing that both levels of government were proactive in taking steps to counteract this current dilemma, and stop acting like Canada is the pretty girl at the high school dance with low self esteem, worrying that the rest of the world thinks she's ugly. I'm a proud Canadian that lives in Alberta , and I wish our leaders showed the pride in our country that all of us as Canadians share. Is it too much to ask of our leaders to lead?</span></span></span></div>
