<li>] and after reading some of the comments, i am appalled!! the lack of empathy for Albertans is astounding!! &nbsp;</li>

<li>] stereotypes - so the theme seems to be lets paint a picture of all Albertans as entitled arrogant 'rig pigs' who earned an easy undeserved 6 figure salary which they promptly proceeded to blow on the proverbial 'hookers and &nbsp;blow'. &nbsp;</li>
<li>] uneducated high school dropout, gets a job in the patch, makes a 6 figure salary, spends it all on a shiny new 4x4 w/lift kit, quads, toys, 5000sq ft house, yada, yada</li>
<li>*]&nbsp;you would think that every single albertan is an uneducated high school dropout who started earning 6 figures the moment that they dropped out of high school. They the proceeded to blow every single penny of those earnings on shiny new 4x4 pickup trucks with lift kits</li>
</ol>
<li><strong>] stereotypes&nbsp;</strong></li>
<ol>
<li>] one could argue that having an economy where an uneducated high school dropout could get a job is NOT necessarily a bad thing,&nbsp;</li>
<li>] let alone a job where you could earn enough to support a family, buy a house, etc, etc.</li>
<li>] now there is a whole hell of a lot of assumption, but lets assume that it was true.</li>
<li>] i am pretty sure that the guy who sold the shiny new pickup truck wasn't complaining, nor was the construction crew building the house, the bank stuff selling the financing, the&nbsp;</li>
</ol>
<li><strong>] assholes</strong></li>
<ol>
<li>] And you know what, I can pretty much gurantee you that some of them are assholes, just like some of the people from Toronto are assholes and some of the people from Vancouver are assholes, people are people, assholes come from all different locations, in all different shapes and colors. But I would also bet the the majority of them are decent honest hard working people, real people.&nbsp;</li>

<li>] with real kids and real bills to pay and no paycheque coming in and no job prospects in the foreseeable future.&nbsp;</li>

<li>] and you do realize that NOT all of the unemployed work in the oil patch. The additional x.x spinoff jobs the are created when new projects go online, are also likely eliminated when these new projects no longer exist. So the extra staff that was hired is likely to be the first ones out the door.&nbsp;</li>

<li><strong>] tpoo affects YOU too!!</strong></li>

<li>] your energy costs are lower, that's - GOOD -&nbsp;</li>
<li>] tpoo is pretty closely tied to the value of the CDN dollar - low oil price means a low cdn dollar, this is both GOOD and BAD&nbsp;</li>
<li>] BAD - all imports are going to be more expensive, starting with the head of lettuce your buying for dinner tonight and going all the wa up to the new Toyota your thinking about getting ...</li>
<li>] GOOD - the CDN dollar in the range of .50 - .80 % of the USD is GOOD for canadian based sellers of goods and services. Our products should be more competitive globally, increased jobs in the manufacturing sector.&nbsp;</li>
