<li>] banks are somewhat different but all will exchange your american money, most retailers will also, although the rate of exchange may vary, most have machines where you can withdraw can cash, As for Credit Cards, MC and Visa are accepted most everywhere, American Express not so much, Diners club and others, very rare</li>

<li>] Generally goods and services are somewhat MORE EXPENSIVE in Canada then they will be&nbsp;<span style="text-decoration: underline;">back in the USA</span>. Once you FACTOR in the EXCHANGE RATE, Most Goods and Services will be ABOUT THE SAME as what you pay back home. As with any rule, there are always exceptions.&nbsp;</li>
<li>] Some things that will typically be&nbsp;<strong>MORE EXPENSIVE</strong>&nbsp;- GAS, ALCOHOL, CIGARETTES, DIARY (milk, cheeze, eggs), AIRFARE</li>
<li>] Some things that will&nbsp;typically&nbsp;be&nbsp;<strong>ABOUT THE SAME</strong>&nbsp;- GROCERIES, RESTAURANTS, FAST FOOD,&nbsp;</li>
<li>] Some things that will&nbsp;typically&nbsp;be&nbsp;<strong>CHEAPER</strong>&nbsp;- &nbsp;VEHICLES,</li>

<li>] the "sticker price" you see in the store is the pre tax price. In ALL PROVINCES, EXCEPT ALBERTA, that sticker price will be subject to an additional PST that varies by Province, and averages 7% nationally and ALSO a federal GST which is currently 5% across the board. So plan to pay 12 - x % &nbsp;on top of the sticker price for most goods and services that you purchase.&nbsp;</li>
<li>] Services like car repairs, hair cuts, etc, etc are also subject to these taxes, so keep that in mind when you get that $100 quote for you Car repair, because its going to be $115 with taxes.&nbsp;</li>
<li>] Gasoline/Deisel is an exception that has all the TAXES included in the sticker price you see posted at the pump.&nbsp;</li>
