<li>TIP 1&nbsp;-&nbsp; <a href="article?id=894" target="_blank">you dont need the start button</a>-part-1-basics,&nbsp;really, i am serious&nbsp;forget about that start button&amp;menu, the start screen is the new start button&amp;menu, only better !!</li>

<li>your right - keeping in mind that 'style' is purely subjective and someone else could say "its beautiful" and they are&nbsp;right too.</li>
<li>TIP&nbsp;4 - customizing your start screen, customizing your lock screen, customizing your desktop background, customizing your windows theme,</li>

<li>some say - "i dont need this touch based stuff", i only work with a mouse and keyboard,</li>

<li>your right -&nbsp;you dont have to use it! YOU dont need&nbsp;to use it, and guess what IF&nbsp;AND WHEN&nbsp;you decide that you do want to use it, its there for you to use.</li>
<li>TIP 5 - see TIP(S) 1, 2 and 3 for getting started with windows 8, each points out the methods that you would use to "do stuff"&nbsp;with 1] the KEYBOARD, 2] the MOUSE and 3] the FINGER. Ignore # 3.</li>

<li>TIP&nbsp;6 - YES - they are entirely correct! - I confirmed this by going to&nbsp;google and doing a search on "windows 8 apps". I got absolutely 0 results. I couldnt believe it, i dont know if I can ever recall getting 0 results on a google search for anything. ever.</li>
<li>Sooooo, what to do - i then did a search on windows 7 programs. I got 27 trillion results. guess what - windows 7&nbsp;programs still work in windows 8, so do vista programs, xp programs ....as a matter of FACT some are even saying you can run DOS programs.</li>
<li>hyper v - you can run a linux machine, run all your linux programs,</li>
<li>the windows store - the apps are coming, large developer base, ms has got a big campaign&nbsp;, now throw in the fact that the new apps&nbsp;can be&nbsp;written&nbsp;in js anyone&nbsp;who has developed&nbsp;a web application&nbsp;&nbsp;, will scale, if w8 adoption goes crazy, the app store will go crazy, if w8 adoption lags,</li>

<li>some say -&nbsp;"the integration of old and new is not perfect" </li>
<ol>
<li>one minute i am full screen, the next minute i am on the desktop, i minute i am in ie 10 APP the address bar is at the bottom, the favorites, , the next minute i am in ie 10 program the address bar i back at the top</li>

<li>some say - "msft is going to lock me into their ecosystem"</li>
<ol>
<li>getting locked into any 1 manufacturers ecosystem of products and choices&nbsp;by mfg's design of said ecosystem is not necessarily a good&nbsp;choice for the consumer.&nbsp;how is msft going to play this game?</li>

<li>some say -&nbsp;"they took away my toys"</li>

<li>how much time did you spend actually learning a little about "how to use windows-8" before you installed it, tried to use it and then got frustrated - OK then, and of that 45 minutes, how much of that was spent installing pooky or smooky whatever the latest "i-want-my-windows-start-button-back"&nbsp; app is?</li>
<li>TIP 3 - invest a bit of time learning about how windows 8 works before you get frustrated trying to figure it out on your own.</li>
</ol>
<li>some say - "its NOT like" windows _x_?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<ol>
<li>TIP&nbsp;4&nbsp; -&nbsp;windows 8 is not EXACTLY like windows 7 or windows vista or windows XP or ..., accept that, own it, move on with your life ..&nbsp;</li>

<li>Hey, im not knocking windows 7, its a great os! but getting back to all that "real work" you have to do, which i am assuming that your talking&nbsp;about running applications that "do stuff" thats "important to you", lets compare 1 example</li>
<li>windows 8 - ] turn on computer, ] login, ] type "excel", ] BEGIN REAL WORK</li>
<li>windows 7 - ] turn on computer, ] login, ] click start, ] click all programs, ] click microsoft office, ] click office excel, ] BEGIN REAL WORK</li>

<li>some say - "i hate microsoft"</li>

<li>your right ms is a money grubbing corporation, that wants to do&nbsp;nothing more than seperate you from your hard earned $. Now in all fairness to ms (those money grubbing *&amp;*)*_)*), a recent&nbsp;study of corporations worldwide concluded that exactly 99.999 % of corporations, wanted to "get your money".</li>
<li>The executives from these corporations&nbsp;were&nbsp;cited as saying " it would much more convenient for them, if you&nbsp;just sent them your money directly, without them having to deliver any types of products or services, for that money.</li>

<li>some say - "windows 8 is the new vista"</li>

<li>windows 8&nbsp;== windows 8</li>
<li>windows 8 == windows 7 + 1</li>
