well, the vacation turned out to to be pretty much anything goes // free for all as far as food/diet was concerned.

All in all, it wasn't a total disaster - the worse thing was probably too much alcohol OR portions that were a little too generous OR the bread OR the snacks that were were a little too frequent OR ... (you get the picture) BUT after all it is A VACATION and I am NOT going to ruin my vacation by passing over the treats that make vacationing even more fun.

There were some good healthy meals( salmon, steak, halibut, sushi) and snacks (smoked salmon and >> fresh fruit <<) along the way but all in all - calories in were mucho > calories out.

observations / surprises - ] small amount of potato chips, ] only 1 order of french fries, ] almost no fast food (bk, ?fish & chips? ), ] I never felt hungry, ] I felt bloated ( too many beers ), ] I ate quite a bit more then the 2 previous weeks. ] There was NO crudite. ] the BEST treats - non diet approved = ] @tickleberries cone, ] spanokopita, ] sandwiches, salami + cheese ]

Everything "costs" and I assume that the "scale gains" I have made in the first 16 days of this diet will be pretty much wiped out by this pasts weeks consumption. Easy come, Easy Go. I am "hoping" that IF I can get back on track with 2 weeks of "good diet" and regular exersize, I will get back to my pre vacation weight(PVW). This will make me happy and it will have been toally worth it. Keep in mind, if things works out according to that plan, that is a 3 week detour for 1 week of "treats".

If I am still > PVW after a 2 "good" weeks - hmmmmmmmmm - THEN maybe next vacation a little more(some) self control/mindfullness will be in order. AND of course REMEMBER ....

I won't know the actual damage because I am trying to get "off the scale" for a few weeks and test how that works on my psyche and physique. I am starting this today. The idea is to concentrate more on how I feel, physically / mentally with the diet results and NOT the numbers

UPDATE-theory-unknown - I know that I would have been frustrated with the results, so the first day of "not knowing" aka the unknow is somewhat of a success. I have pretty much stuck to the "diet plan" today ( Day# ## or Day# 001 post vacation )
