 Kinder Morgan pipeline project in for an increasingly rocky ride

2. ] it states that before environmental concerns like climate change, the oilsands, the deepwater horizon disaster a pipline project was common and boring and would not require an advertising campain or public relations campaign.
3. ] the main pipeline project in BC that is currently the focus of most attention is the Northern Gateway project.
4. ] NDP leader Adrian Dix has stated his public opposition to this project while Premier Clark has laid down strict condition for supporting it.
5. ] while the gateway project is recieving all the attention, another company Kinder Morgan is quietly going about its business with a proposal to build another pipeline to pump tarsands oil to the west coast port.
6. ] the proposal would increase from the current oil tanker shipments from 5 per month to a planned 25 per month.
7. ] The companies low key approach of town hall style meetings seems to be drawing less attention with only a handful of protesters showing up at its meetings.
8. ] Recently though, at an event in Victoria, a busload of protesters showed up and disrupted the meeting, causing the company to shut the meeting down early.
9. ] The reporter believes the incident signals a growing militancy of the opponents of the project and that the fight could take on Enbridge scale proportions as it moves forward.
10. ] Adrian Dix has NOT stated his position on this pipeline, while Premier Clark has called for a fair share of the profits, which the company has agreed in principle too.
