  1. ] insert the DVD to be copied into the DVD drive
    1. *] most dvd will 'autoplay' meaning they will usually 'pop up' a window with some options asking you what you want to do, IF you choose the option to "view files and folders" you can skip step #2 and go straight to step # 3
  2. ] to open your *file explorer* 
    1. ] from the windows 8.x start screen,
    2. >] click the 'desktop' tile to go to the desktop
    3. ] on the bottom left hand corner of the desktop, you should see a 'folder' icon in the 'task bar',
    4. >] click on the 'folder' icon in the taskbar to open the 'file explorer' program
  3. ] in the 'file explorer' window, on the left hand side, under  the 'This PC' icon
    1. ] you will see a list of the folders, files and drives that your computer can access
    2. >] click on the "DVD drive" to 'select' it
    3. *] in the large window to the right, a list of the folders and files stored on the DVD should appear,
  4. ] on the home menu tab at the top of the 'file explorer' window on the far right, you should have a button to 'select all'
    1. >] click the 'select all' button to select all the files on the DVD disc,
    2. *] when they are selected they should appear 'highlighted' or 'lit up' in blue
  5. ] on the home menu tab, at the top of the 'file explorer' window on the far left, you should see a "copy" button
    1. >] click the 'copy' button to copy all the file on the DVD drive
    2. *] you won't see any visible changes after you have 'copied' the items
  6. ] in the file exporer window, on the left hand side, under  the 'This PC' icon,
    1. >] click on the "removable drive" to select it
    2. *] in the large window to the right, a list of the folders and files stored on the "removable drive" should appear,
  7. ] on the 'home' menu tab, at the top of the 'file explorer' window, on the far left, you should see a 'button' to "paste"
    1. >] click the paste button
    2. ] you should start to see the files and folders that you are pasting start to appear in the window.
    3. *you will likely also get a progress bar indicating the 'progress' of the file copy operation if you are copying a large amount of files
