[WHY]

  1. +] android jellybean 4.2
    1. See our android jellybean 4.2 OS page for more details on the newest features ( ] miracast, ] photosphere, ] bump, ] ...) in this version of the android os that you will find on this phone, the updated or improved features ( camera, google now, notifications, ... ) as well as for a listing of the common os features in android. (widgets, live wallpapers, ) that you may not have in other mobile os like (apple, windows or blackberry)
    2. because this is a stock android phone it means that you will get future android os updates faster
  2. +] great unmatched price
    1. $299 - 8 GB model, (5 GB free space)
    2. $349 - 16 GB model (13 GB free space)
  3. +] unlocked and contract free
    1. This phone is being sold directly through google's play store without any service contract as well as through some carriers (see WHERE below). What "contract free" - means - to you in a nutshell is that you own the phone outright without any obligation to the carrier that you choose or contract term length.
  4. +] great screen
    1. 4.7" HD 1280 x 768 (320 ppi) WXGA IPS
  5. +] unique "all glass" design
    1. utilizing cornings "gorilla glass", front and back,
  6. +] performance
    1. a "quad core" processor and 2GB ram, should net you top drawer performance as compared to any phones that are availabe today.
  7. +] specifications
    1. ] here are the KEY SPECIFICATIONS on this model, you can click on the spec name(in captital letters, to get a more detailed description of exactly what that spec is/does/means), you can also COMPARE THESE SPECS to ANOTHER PHONE( apples iphone 5) HERE
    2. SCREEN: 4.7" 1280x768 screen, PROCESSOR: 1.5 ghz quad core processor, MEMORY: 2GB RAM, STORAGE: 8(16) GB, NETWORKING: wifi: b/g/n, cell: hpsma+, bluetooth, CAMERA: 8 mp,
  8. +] other interesting things ...
    1. wireless charging - this new feature gives you the ability to charge the phone without physically plugging it in. you place the phone on a "charging mat" where it gets recharged without having to physically connect any cables.
    2. pulse notification light - this is a little blinky light, that starts flashing when, for example you get a message or an email, very handy

[WHY NOT]

  1. - ] NO LTE
    1. ouch, the fastest, newest standard for wireless data transfer and its NOT AVAILABLE on this phone.
      1. ] ADD articles ] does that matter to youdo you need/want LTE ?
      2. note - interesting google plus POST from a nexus 4 user and his non LTE data transfer rates on the T-mobile network(usa)
      3. important note - interesting story from arstechica, who reported that the nexus-4 actuallly has an LTE chip inside of it, UPDATEd 2012-11-23 and now additional reports saying that you can enable the LTE relatively easily (no soldering requried), basically thru some simple settings changes and it was found to be functional on certain carrier networks.
  2. - ] LIMITED Storage Cabability,
    1. only available in 2 variations, so if you like to KEEP a lot of DATA on your phone, it may be an issue
      1. ] not sure how much storage space do "you" need on your smartphone? x] check out the CNET article on how they determined the amount of storage space that they needed on their devices.
      2. ] google is providing 50 GB of Free cloud based storage with box.com for purchasers of these devices, ] that would be in addition to the approx 10 GB of storage space that comes with a google account. But remember when your accessing 'your cloud stuff' when your not connected to a wireless network, you are paying for data transfer.
  3. - ] NO micro SD slot ( aka memory expandability )
    1. ouch. see above
    2. ] DID YOU KNOW? - you can use a usb thumb drive and connect it to your phone. You need an OTG connector(relatively inexpensive) that enables your phone to connect to the thumb drive and read its contents. A cheap and easy way to expand the storage capablity of devices with limited storage. Definetly not as convenient as an integrated SD card but if you only occasionally need to bring along large data files, this could be a $20 solution!
  4. - ] NO removable battery
    1. ] this is only a big deal, IF the battery fails,
      1. in which case the phone is now a ?recycycling candidate? unless it is within the standard (## month) warranty period. For you DIYers out there(and you know who you are) the phone does come apart, but apparently the battery is glued to the glass casing, so trying to remove it, may not turn out well for you!
    2. ] OR if you have a "use case" where you are/you need to hot swap batteries because ...
  5. ] CAMERA - OK but not great
    1. ] some reviewers are commenting on the quality of the images. This could be a factor if you take a lot of photos and your smartphone is your primary image capture device.
  6. ] SOUND - OK but not great
    1. ] some reviewers are commenting on the sound quality of the speaker.
