[WHAT]

  1. ] android 4.2 (jellybean) is a version of the open source tablet and mobile phone operating system software from google

[WHY]

  1. [ USER INTERFACE(UI) ]  
    1. ] lock screen widgets - place widgets onto the lock screen,
    2. ] expandable actionable notifications - interact directly with the application that generates a notification from the notificiation bar
    3. ] widgets - you can now place your widgets on a home screen and the other widgets will "make room" for them where previously you had to "make or find an open spot" to drop the widget into. 
    4. ] quick access settings dock - a feature not available natively in android until now, (but often added by device manufacturers), this provides quick access to commonly used device settings for enable/disable wifi, bluetooth, gps, HOW TO pull down notifications and tap the icon in the top right corner, or two finger swipe down
    5. ] keyboard adds "swype like" gesture based typing - also with a predictive text engine for virtual keyboard input, keyboard suggests "words" based upon character input and then enables user to use a swiping gesture to slide the word up into the message that is being prepared, without having to manually input each character.
  2. [ MANAGEMENT ]
    1. ] multiple user accounts - tablets ONLY(for now) - Users get their own home screens, backgrounds, widgets, apps and games on, and it's easy to switch between user accounts right from the lock screen
  3. [ NETWORKING ]
    1. miracast protocol support - enables users to wirelessly stream both audio and video directly from mobile device to television set, without having to go through a wireless network. both LG and Samsung have this technology [natively] in select devices.

    2. beam - just bump 2 nfc enabled devices  together and you can now  use it to share your ] photos, ] videos and ] contacts, ] web pages, ] YouTube videos, ] directions, and ] apps

    1. ] camera - photosphere - revised with new features for taking ] 360 degree panoramic images  ( added in 4.0  photosphere), enables you to create panoramic and new 360 3D type pictures by taking multiple shots and having the software "stitch" them together to create the 3D images similar to those scene in the google maps streetview, new menuing system, also in app editing / features like filters, borders, etc.
