    11. ] intel curry chip - low power, tiny soc, dual core - betting on makers to make the next generation of devices, IOT, low power

    10. ] HTC bought interest in Beats, then shortly after Beats bought that share back
    11. ] bad blood between monster and beats for a while -
    12. ] Monster see's Dre and Iovine as taking credit for the headphones success, even though monster felt it was their technology (infrastructure) that led to their success
    13. ] if Beats would acknowledge that, a lot of the bad blood would dissipate.

    1. ] chairwoman Edith Ramirez - is concerned about risks arising from the IoT revolution
    2. ] has been pushing for "privacy by design" for IOT devices, gov encourage businesses to bake privacy into devices
    3. ] concern about consumers data, what they are giving up,
    4. ] need to ensure privacy/security is handled first, before there is a problem.
    5. ] some republicans believe ADDING regulation will slow down development of said devices/technologies.
    6. ] FTC has been enforcing privacy with companies like google facebook
    7. ] might discourage investment in these companies
    8. ] some believe their should be more emphasis on consumer education, consumers being responsible for their own privacy
    9. ] instead of the gov. being pre emptive with new regulations
    10. ] does .gov have the capacity to ensure that devices do meet any guidelines that are created, there are so many of these devices coming into the marketplace now
    11. ] going to be like regulation in food industry, there isnt really any, its self policing, overseen by industry members
    12. ] FTC is not a regulatory body, it is an enforcement body
    13. ] they have a report coming out on the IoT, soon
