] by Don Sagrott, founder @ sospep.com - someone asked - why i am keeping/making notes about things like {vacations} when I dont have too?
[WHY]
] remember / memory -
] facts - where we went, what we did, how much it cost, where its located, the 'details' associated with the activities (and the photos )
] thoughts - at the time - was it enjoyable? was it what we expected?
] important notes - something that may not be obvious, but would be good to know, (ex tide timetables for skookumchuk narrows)
] memories - 30 years from now - were not going to remember IF we had a vacation in 2016, let alone where we went or what we did? - maybe it will be interesting to sit in our rocking chairs and read about it
] helps with FUTURE planning, advice
] if you do decide to go again, or if provde details for others who may want to go, you can always REVIEW ] where we went, ] what we thought, ] how much it cost, ] etc, etc, to refresh things your memory may have
] of course, everything changes over time and it won't prevent you from researching/planning your next trip, but it should help
] DECISIONS
] do i want to visit this place again, ] did I enjoy this trip?, ] did i enjoy this trip more than {another trip} ] is there a lot more to see and do here, ] do I want to do what I already have done again?
] ACCOUNTING -
] Time - how long things took
] Money - how much things cost, were they as expected, were there price surprises, ....
] your PLANning anyways, this is just 1 more detail
] you start your trip with a PLAN, that plan { starts your documentation / serves as the foundation of your documentation }
[WHY NOT]
] it takes TIME - 1+ hours per day
] YES, this is likely the biggest and most valid con, and you (may) have to get it done fairly recently to when you actually vacationed for best results.
