Dear {HR person},
Do you really want to read another boring cover letter, another boring resume/CV, NO, I didnt think so ...
So, heres the deal, I can code, trust me ;)
So lets skip the boring cover letter/resume stuff and let me tell you, a little about my latest project ...
it's a predictive analysis algorithm for automatically generating future performance sports selections based upon objectively quanitifiable past performance data.
... that sounds pretty impressive doesn't it ...
Now lets talk about exactly what it actually is and what it actually does.
its a sports fantasy points game prediction tool - for NASCAR's fantasy sports game(NFS), it automatically predicts, the best "picks" for each NASCAR race, within the confines of the NFS game rules.
NASCAR racing where (almost) every weekend, between mid february and mid november, 43 NASCAR race drivers strap on their helmets and take to the track to determine, who is the #1 stock car driver in the world.
In addition to sanctioning the actual event, NASCAR.com runs, likely, the largest fantasy points competition in the sport. I would guesstimate that they have several hundred thousand entries competing for their grand prize.
Long story short, to win the competition, you must pick the 5 drivers that score the most fantasy points over the course of a 36 race season. Each driver is assigned a per race cost which fluctuates throughout the season, based upon that driver's performance. You are given a budget and must select 5 drivers for each race within the budget. After each race, all drivers are awarded fantasy points based upon several factors of their in race performance. The player whose drivers accumulate the most fantasy points win.

Check out the app here, you can follow the app development project itself (yes, i wrote the project management software too, but thats another story for another day)
Another thing, worth mentioning, the tech behind this app is nodejs. If you did check out my resume-v-00x, you'll notice that I don't have nodejs listed yet as 1 of my skills, because this is my first project with it, and I've been using this project to teach myself the framework.
And if you think, I could cut it, working on your code base, let me throw in some deal sweeteners -
] add deal sweeteners
I'm hoping that sounds like a pretty sweet deal for your company, if so, Lets talk, you can find my contact details on the aforementioned boring resume. (you see they are good for something),
Thanks for reading and have yourself an awesome day !!
Best Regards
Don
