] Daylan Pearce does an analysis of what 'facebook'(fb) knows about you
] Just so you know, i am NOT hating on/picking on fb here, I wrote a similar article about google +, another social network that I do participate on. I would assume that most any of the major social networks out there today are operating with a similar modus operandi. I wrote this article primarily as a reminder to myself (and for anyone else that cares) and in hopes that perhaps 1 day we can get the answer to the bigger ?...
[WHY]
] the-bigger-?
] what does facebook OR [your-favorite-social-network] do with what they knowabout you?
[WHERE]
[REMEMBER] think before you "post"
] the internet is not synonomous with anonymous - everythingyou do on the internet, has the potential to be available/accessible to anyone, anywhere, forever !!
[REMINDER] cc NSA
] as Edward Snowden was kind enough to inform us back in 2013-06, whatever facebook or <insert your social network> knows about you, the NSA also knows about you.
[WHEN]
] the 'younger generation' have moved/are moving on ...
] they are leaving fb in droves, for a number of reasons, unfortunately a lot of them are ending up on network services like snapchat, lured in with the 'promise' of an 'ephemeral' social experience, where any of the messages you send, magically, disappear after a few seconds ....
] well i hate to be the bearer of bad news here,
] but your going to have to tell your loyal snapchat user's that there is NO such thing as a "disappearing" message. ( see WHERE 1.1 ) and after the recent security breach at snapchat you have even more cause for concern about using their service and perhaps others like it.
[EXAMPLE]
] why should YOU care? Even if your NOT doing anything wrong and you DONT have anything to hide.
] # 2330 This ariticle explores (x) real life scenarios where seemingly 'innocent' data has been misinterpreted, misused, stolen, ... with the outcome of it influencing your ] employment ] finances loans ] relationships ] safety ]
