  4. ] dates, 1/4 cup ( approx 10 dates, ## g)

  6. ] Sugar,Brown, 1 Ta
  7. ] coconut, shredded, 2 Ta
  8. ] raisins-sultana, 1 Ta
  9. *** OPTIONAL TOPPING IDEA'S ***
  10. ] strawberries, sliced -
  11. ] blueberries -
  12. ] raspberries -
  13. ] blackberries -
  14. ] walnuts, $15-20 KG
  15. ] almonds, chopped, sliced, roasted, $20-40 KG 
  16. ] cream

] recipe.instructions =

  1. ] Place oatmeal in pot on stove.
  2. ] Add water
  3. ] chop dates into small peices, (they will blend into the oatmeal during cooking, giving a sweeter flavor)
  4. ] ADD chopped dates and any other optional ingredients you want to include, stir.
  5. ] simmer over low - med heat until oatmeal is fully cooked ( approx 20 minutes), stir occassionally  
  6. ] go nuts and and top your oatmeal with some of the items from the optional topping ideas to really jazz up your oatmeal

[06-20] version - TRY

- TRY - more chia,4 TA,  NO coconut cooked in, TOP with cocunut, MIN raisins

- E,S - zero sweetness, more chia seeds than oatmeal, OK but ...

- D,S - mild sweetness, maybe a little less chia, pre soak longer, OK would be nice w/ toppings ( cream berries || yogurt berries )


[07-04] version - TRY 

- REMOVE dates (-sugar)

- REMOVE 1/ 1/2 cup water 

- ADD 1 1/2 cup milk (has some sugar)

- ADD increase raisins, cooked in, to 1/2 cup 

- ADD 1/2 Te cinnamon

- ADD 1 Ta flax seed

- ADD 1 Ta coconut,shredded (?)

- D,S - this is like unsweetened oatmeal, definetly better "with dates", they add not only sweetness, but also enhance flavor UPDATE 1 second day taste test, liked it better, it tasted good(? better ?) cold too. UPDATE 2 after eating a few times, it was actually pretty good, it is perhaps that i am getting used to eating "less sweet products", I made another batch and am still liking this version.

WIN = - tried oatmeal only( pre cooked), after soaking (milk+water) actually pretty good, i think this is the win here
