      1. a good race for Dale Jr, making a good recovery from a botched pit stop that move him back into the middle of the pack and a great slide recovery that enabled Jr to also extend his season long streak of top 10 finishes to 5, his best ever start to the season  post race press conference - talks about - botched pit stop, teamwork, has suggestion for track owners about repaving a couple of lanes on the back stretch only. post race team report
    2. Joey Logano - #22 - 3rd place, 9th in season points 
      1. Joey raced hard at the front of the pack all day, late in the race the car was overheating but still running at the front, on the last restart he threw a major block on 14 who was trying to get underneath him and then was involved in a fierce battle for the lead with arch rival Denny Hamlin, which ended up with the 11 going hard into the inside retaining wall and Logano capturing 3rd spot.

      1. ] was running up front with a shot at the win, at the final restart, got blocked by Logano and ended up going backwards and finishing 22nd, after the race Stewart was involved in a post race conflict, see ...

    5. Brad Keselowski  - 23rd place finish, 2nd in standings - moves DOWN (-12) 
      1. ] A day of adversity for Brad ends his streak of 4(four) top 5 finishes to start the season and moves him out of the points lead. After being forced to start at the back of the pack due to an engine change, getting a speeding penalty and then having  engine overheating issues, Brad did have the car up front for a good portion of the day but ultimately the race did not finish well.
    6. Denny Hamlin - 25th place finish, DOWN to10th place in season points  
      1. ] raced up front for most of the day, overcame pit road miscue, battling for the win on the final laps with Logano and ended up wrecking, took a hard head on hit into the infield wall, collapsed after exiting car and sent to local hospital for further evaluation.

  4. x] Television(TV) coverage and Ratings (Auto Club Speedway, ) 
    1. ] This site has full stats for the TV broadcast on FOX, which indicated that 146 minutes of the total 197 minutes of the TV broadcast was RACE COVERAGE (74.11%) and the balance was COMMERCIALS(25.89%). 
    2. ] The race averaged a 4.5/## in the overnight ratings. That's up +  32% over last year's 3.4/## for the same race.(rain shortened in 2012) For the weekend, the Auto Club 500 was the top non-NCAA sporting event by a wide margin
    3. ] So far this year, 4/5 races broadcast on FOX have posted a year-to-year increase. 
    4. ] In 5 races this season, the NASCAR TV ratings are UP 16 %.
  5. ] Attendance - although NASCAR no longer provides their unofficial guess estimated attendance figures, 
    1. ] A local newspaper is reporting that about 85k turned out on Sunday after an effective marketing effort by ACS staff.
    2. ] with some people(see above) guess estimating the crowd at about (90+%) of the 92K seat speedway capacity.
    3. ] Last years announced attendance at this race was something like 60k. 
    4. ] the grandstands at the ACS race were noticebly - x] 3/4  ] full 
  6. ] NOW lets talk about "the racing" at the Auto Club 400
    1. ] Awesome! In his un-official survey of having fans grade the race, the Auto Club 400 recieved exceedingly high grades according to Richard Allen at Racing with Rich.com
