] - This particular infographic is as ridiculous now as when it was first published. Nothing wrong with comparing the 2, but get the facts strait  and 

- there is no denying that F1 machinery is a modern technical marvel BUT to say that NASCAR's technology is stuck in 1950 is a bit of an exageration. 

A key part of NASCAR's success formula has been in its appeal to the "common" man/woman, and a big part of that appeal was the fact that the cars "raced" are "based upon" the cars that the average 

american owned and drove and that for a lot of fans cheering for your favorite brand of car was as much a part of the racings appeal as cheering on  your favorite driver(s).
