] INTRO =
- dieting is as common sense as it gets( DIET = calories in < calories out) YET today in North America nearly 2 out of 3 adults are considered to be overweight or obese,
- over 1/3 (35.7%) of the adult population is considered to be obese. The obesity rates for many other parts of the developed world are similar.
- Obesity is NOT just a factor that affects your physical appearance and mobility. Increases in the rates of many deadly diseases including type 2 diabetes,
hypertension and heart disease have risen in lock step with the increases in the obesity rates. The number of less deady, but more common medical conditions that have
been attributed to diet/poor diet is almost endless.
- ] So, why are we so damn fat and getting fatter?
-- we eat too much
-- we eat too much of the wrong things
- ] So, why do we eat too much?
-- it tastes good ()
-- we are hungry ()
-- we are starving ()
-- we give in to our cravings ()
-- we dont know what/whats in the foods that we are eating ( WTF - yogurt has more sugar than ice cream!!)
-- we dont like healthy food ( we havent developed a taste for healthy foods)
-- ___
- its important to try and understand the reasons behind the why (you) eat too much, we can work on this throughout the course of our diet but for now lets get started on the path to healthy eating.
- ] How much should we eat? ( less, )
- the answer to that is quite likely pretty obvious,
- how much do you eat, what do you eat ( tracking everything you eat, currently )
] what should we eat?
- now, this is the $64 question.
