DIET-no-sugar - UPDATE-001

[ after 10 days ]

TLDR - RESULTS - Overall

[ PLAN ]

I have embarked on a no-sugar diet* with the objectives of

>] losing approximately 50#,

>] changing the way that I eat to maintain that loss,

>] curing my skin condition. 

This is a summary of the various RESULTS/CONCLUSIONS that I have come to after 10 days on this diet plan.

[ RESULTS TLDR]

[ FEELS ]

I feel almost guilty "suggesting" it - but i do feel better allready (more energertic, somewhat lighter, less bloated) - and - i think i look somewhat less "puffy". Now this could all be in my head, but sometimes thats half the battle.

[ LEARNED ]

What SURPRISED Me the most were 2 things,  # 1]  was that other then for a few days ( 2/10)  I had barely any CRAVINGS and #2] I was not feeling hungry. Now, given my protien portions were on the large side(ie 16 oz steak, large cabbage roll)

    1. REVIEW DIET - a look at what I actually ate(diet-record) in this period VS what I planned to eat(menu-plan)
    2. REVIEW HEALTH - monitoring the status of my nasty rash
    3. REVIEW FITNESS - tracking the physical activity that I am doing
    4. GOING FORWARD -  changes to my current strategy

[ REVIEW - DIET ]

Damn!, I did really  good this period. I realize this is the first days of a new program and everyone starts off good, yada, yada BUT what an excellent start, job well done!

+ RESULTS - weights and measures - after 10 days I am down 8.5# from my starting point on 2016-06-25  

[ REVIEW - FITNESS ]

This plan was/is more about changing my DIET vs being on an exersize program but exersize is good( ?necessary).

I had a great start with 4/10 days where I "worked out" and ...

I also had 3/10 days where I "exersized". 

TOTAL days w/exersize = 7/10 or 70% - impressive, with a 40/30 split on Workouts(W) VS Exersize(E).

NOTE that this "fitness" could be having "as big as" an "effect" on my results as the diet changes are/will have.

 

[ REVIEW - HEALTH ( CONDITION ) ]

It's hard to say, I had some good days and some bad days, the question is how do you measure progess on something like this?

It certainly didn't disappear (CUREd) / Is it any better? I can't say definitively as to wether there was any signs of change on the existing affected areas from the previous 10 day period (] TRY compare earlier photos).   

Unfortunately on the 2nd last day of this period I have some NEW hives appearing in a new location, are they the same? I am NOT sure if these are related to the existing or ???

NEED - I need to find a way to accurately/best measure changes in condition

NEED - I need a way to measure/track/monitor symptoms

REMINDER - Some previous "research" says that it takes about 1 month of DIET for each year that you've had said skin condition, so I should expect 2 - 3 months

[ CONCLUSIONS ] 

After just 10 days on this diet plan I feel better already!! There were 2 things the surprised me the most and they were 1] the lack of cravings and 2] the lack of feeling hungry. I worked out and I exersized and overall I did really good this period. The scale says that I am down 8.5# from my starting point on 2016-06-25.   

Unfortunately, there has been no noticeable improvement in my skin condition. It is early and ...

 

GOING FORWARD

[ PLAN ]

Basically, just "reset the counter" and try to do another 10 days on this same strategy. Some MINOR CHANGES for the next 10 days including ...

[ REVISIONS ]

] REVISION DIET =  TRY a new menu plan version - the menu plan will be somewhat/slightly different then the previous weeks but along the same lines  

] REVISION DIET = UPDATE menu plan = + MORE/ADD =  ] brocoli slaw, ] sushi, ] brocoli salad, ] kale salad kit 

] REVISION DIET = ] thoughts on dairy ( yogurt, milk, ), lactose ?

] REVISION DIET ! = implement a "reward system" - something along the lines of 1 week "on track" gets you a DIET treat/cheat ( bag of chips OR bowl of ice cream OR ...), OR a "cheater meal" (fish&chips, burger and fries, ) OR both

] REVISION HEALTH - NEED - some kind of condition monitoring/reporting system to more accurately document changes to skin condition

[ CONCERNS ] + REMINDERS

] CONCERN - teapot hiking incident -

] CONCERN - upcoming vacation period -

[x] REMINDER - At some point your going to give in and your cravings are going to win ( chips, ice cream, bread, potatoes, all of the above) - move on with your transgression(s) and get back on a good diet track
