- was conducting courses (public speaking, ) train bus. professionals to think on their feet, express their ideas with more clarity, effectiveness and poise, both in interviews and before groups

- realized that more than ps skills, needed training in 'getting along with' everyday people

- needed that training himself

- dealing with people is the biggest problem you face, everyone faces it

- reasearch done by CI indicates that even in technical fields, only 15% of peoples financial success is due to tech skill, 85% is due to their people skills

- tech knowledge but the ability to express ideas, assume leadership and arouse enthusiasm
